Parties Involved in Your Order

HairLume — operates this platform and facilitates the ordering process. Not a prescriber or pharmacy.

1. Who We Are

These terms govern purchases made through HairLume ("we", "us", "our"). For any sales queries, contact support@hairlume.uk.

HairLume does not prescribe medicines.

2. Our Cosmetic Products & UK Cosmetics Law

The non-prescription products sold in our shop are cosmetic products. They are governed in Great Britain by the UK Cosmetics Regulation (Retained Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, as amended) and the Cosmetic Products Enforcement Regulations 2013.

Not medicines. These products are cosmetics. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or medical condition, including hair loss or any form of alopecia, and we make no such claims. Any benefit relates to the condition, cleansing and appearance of the hair and scalp only.

Compliance. For each cosmetic product we sell:

  • ·A Responsible Person established in Great Britain is designated and named on the product and in the product details.
  • ·A Product Information File (PIF) is maintained and available to enforcement authorities on request.
  • ·The product has been notified to the UK Submit Cosmetic Product Notification (SCPN) portal before being placed on the market.
  • ·Manufacture complies with Good Manufacturing Practice (ISO 22716). The full INCI ingredient list, any declarable allergens, batch code and period-after-opening (PAO) marking are shown on the packaging and, where provided, on the product page.
  • ·Claims are substantiated and comply with the UK cosmetics common criteria; the product does not contain any prohibited or restricted substance outside permitted limits.

If you have a known allergy or sensitivity, always review the ingredient (INCI) list on the product page before purchase. If you experience irritation, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.

3. Prescription-Only Medicines (POMs)

Certain products (e.g., Finasteride, Dutasteride) are Prescription-Only Medicines under the Medicines Act 1968 and the Human Medicines Regulations 2012. They cannot be dispensed without a valid prescription issued by a UK-registered clinician. By adding these products to your basket, you acknowledge that:

  • ·You will complete a medical questionnaire reviewed by our partner prescriber.
  • ·Dispatch is conditional on clinical approval. If not approved, you will not be charged.
  • ·HairLume does not make prescribing decisions.

4. Pre-Contract Information

Before you place an order, in accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, we make the following information available: our identity and contact details (section 1); the main characteristics of each product (on the product page); the total price including VAT and any delivery charge (shown at checkout); the delivery arrangements and geographical limits (section 9); your cancellation rights (section 6); and our complaints-handling policy (section 10). By confirming your order you acknowledge that you have received this pre-contract information.

5. Pricing, VAT & Delivery Charges

All prices displayed are in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of any applicable VAT where required by law. Delivery charges, if any, are clearly displayed before you confirm your order and are reflected in the total amount payable shown at checkout before payment is taken — no mandatory fees are added later (in line with the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 prohibition on drip pricing). Optional add-ons are always clearly labelled and never required to complete your purchase.

6. Your Right to Cancel (14-Day Cooling-Off)

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days of receiving your goods without giving any reason.

How to cancel: Contact us at support@hairlume.uk before the 14-day period expires, stating your order reference. You may also use the model cancellation form, available on request from support. To meet the cancellation deadline it is sufficient to send your cancellation notice before the 14 days have expired.

Refunds: Upon valid cancellation we will reimburse you within 14 days using the same payment method you used for the original transaction, unless you agree otherwise. You must return the goods to us within 14 days of cancellation. Return costs are your responsibility unless the goods are faulty or not as described.

Exceptions — hygiene-sealed cosmetics and medicines: The right to cancel does not apply to:

  • ·Cosmetics that have been unsealed after delivery (for example opened shampoo or conditioner bottles, or hair fibres with a broken seal) — sealed goods not suitable for return due to health-protection or hygiene reasons under the Regulations.
  • ·Prescription medicines once dispensed, due to safety regulations.
  • ·Digital services that have been fully performed with your prior express consent.

This means you may inspect a sealed cosmetic as you would in a shop, but once the seal is broken or the product opened, it cannot be returned for a refund unless the goods are faulty or not as described.

7. Returns, Refunds & Faulty Goods

Sealed, unopened non-prescription items may be returned within 14 days of receipt. To initiate a return, contact support@hairlume.uk with your order reference. Return postage costs are the customer's responsibility unless the item is faulty or not as described.

Faulty or misdescribed goods: Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply to every order. Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If a product is faulty or not as described:

  • ·You have a short-term right to reject within 30 days of delivery and claim a full refund.
  • ·After 30 days and up to 6 years from delivery, you may be entitled to a repair or replacement, and ultimately a refund or price reduction if the fault cannot be put right.

These rights are in addition to, and do not affect, your right to cancel under section 6. Reimbursement for faulty goods includes standard delivery costs where applicable.

8. Subscriptions

Monthly subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. In accordance with the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013:

  • ·You receive a renewal reminder before each automatic renewal, including the amount, renewal date and a link to cancel.
  • ·You may cancel at any time from your account settings or by contacting support — the process is no more onerous than subscribing.
  • ·Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are given for unused portions of a billing period unless required by law.
  • ·You also have a 14-day cooling-off right on each renewal cycle.

9. Delivery

Delivery is limited to addresses within the United Kingdom (Great Britain). Delivery timescales and charges are displayed at checkout before you confirm your order. We are not responsible for delays caused by the postal or courier service once dispatched. Risk passes to you on delivery. Title in the goods passes to you once full payment has been received.

10. Complaints & Alternative Dispute Resolution

We aim to resolve all complaints promptly and fairly. To make a complaint, contact support@hairlume.uk and we will respond within a reasonable time. If we cannot resolve your complaint and you remain dissatisfied, you may seek alternative dispute resolution. As a UK consumer you can obtain free, impartial advice and refer a dispute via Citizens Advice, who can help direct you to a certified Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider. You also retain the right to take legal action. This information is provided in accordance with the Alternative Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes (Competent Authorities and Information) Regulations 2015.

11. Your Consumer Rights

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. For free, independent advice, contact Citizens Advice.

12. Governing Law

These terms, and any contract formed under them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising in connection with them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that consumers resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland may bring proceedings in their local courts, and nothing in this clause limits your statutory consumer rights.
